Teddy Santis, founder of Aime Leon Dore, continues to leave his mark on the sneaker world through his dual roles—leading New Balance’s Made in USA line and producing high-profile collaborations under the ALD label. With a commitment to revitalizing New Balance's archival styles, Santis has turned his attention to the New Balance 1000, a model making a significant comeback in 2024 with new colorways and collaborations. While Joe Freshgoods introduced the model in Black Ice and Pink Mink, and Santis teased us with a Cream colorway, Aime Leon Dore will also work on a Black pair. On top of these collabs, the New Balance 1000 is also expected to hit shelves in an array of inline colors, including Tan Pink, Green Grey, and Black Multi-Color.
This latest Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 1000 iteration comes in a predominantly black color scheme, offering a sophisticated and versatile look. The upper combines textured leather, patent leather, and breathable mesh, enveloping the shoe in rich, dark hues. White contrast stitching throughout adds a striking visual element, highlighting the meticulous construction, multi-layered panels, and design details. Aime Leon Dore branding is subtly placed on the lateral toe, with additional co-branding found on the tongue and insole, celebrating the partnership. Two-tone laces in black and white pop along the tongue, finishing the design with a black foam midsole and a matching rubber outsole.
The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 1000 Black will release in 2024 through Aime Leon Dore, New Balance, and select retailers online and in-store. As of this writing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
