Kevin Durant's partnership with Nike has been one of the most fruitful collaborations in basketball footwear history, resulting in seventeen signature models reflecting Durant's on-court prowess and off-court interests. For the KD 17, Nike has chosen to celebrate Durant's connection to music, particularly hip-hop, by collaborating with renowned hip-hop producer Bink!. Bink! has produced for the likes of Jay-Z, Kanye, & even Nate Dog. This collaboration is a nod to the successful Producer Pack from the KD 15 series, which included unique contributions from Cardo, Boi-1da, and 9th Wonder.
The Bink! x Nike KD 17 features an inspired color palette that reflects Bink!'s iconic production style and the earthy tones reminiscent of the soulful samples he often uses. The sneaker is split into two primary hues: tan, covering the forefoot, and brown on the rear. Black Air Max Plus-inspired TPU overlays add a robust, supportive touch to the design, mirroring the strong backbone Bink! provides to any track he produces. Gold accents adorn the top eyelets, Swoosh, and KD branding, injecting a sense of luxury and highlighting the premium nature of this collaboration. Personal touches are evident with Bink!'s signature on the lateral heel and a stitched hand logo on the heel tab. The sneaker's design is rounded off with a foam midsole adorned with brown splatter details, resting above a semi-translucent rubber outsole that intriguingly houses the word "Humble," a testament to both Durant's and Bink!'s approach to their crafts.
